Lab Activities
We do a variety of activities under the umbrella of our Themes – Agriculture, Education, Water and Livelihood Generation.
Innovate
We develop in-house technical solutions to the problems which are substantial in nature and for which no technical solution exists or for which multiple iterations are needed to arrive at the right solution or for which technology is not available in India and is likely to be unavailable in the next 1-2 years.
 Incubate
We are keen on incubating budding social entrepreneurs who have an idea of their own or who would like to start a business with one of lab’s products. We have strong relationships with the many rural banking institutions, NGOs, funding agencies, training institutes and Self Help Groups. Through this strong network and our own 15 years experience in rural markets, we can help entrepreneurs build their business.
Consult
 We provide consulting to organization with new ideas/ technologies that want to enter into rural markets, but don’t have the necessary resources or expertise in doing so. With our wide presence in rural areas of Karnataka and access to various institutions working towards rural development we will provide honest, accurate and comprehensive feedback /solutions.
Involve
Our goal is to make technology solutions, either developed in-house or outsourced, available to the poor and improve quality of their lives. Products developed in SELCO Lab that are ready for roll out to customers will either fall into the mainstream operations of SELCO or will find their way into the market through an incubated entrepreneur. Our expertise is in integrating multiple technologies, and devising an innovative, affordable and reliable solution to the customer. We are interested in evaluating unexplored energy services that make sense to be introduced into the rural market and involve them into SELCO's sales channels. |
