Program Lead – Consultancy

Roles and Responsibilities

● Support implementation of program activities related to decentralised energy solutions for livelihoods and enterprises.
● Work with field teams, partners, and enterprises to design and implement context appropriate DRE interventions.
● Contribute to ecosystem development by engaging with local institutions, value chain actors, and support organizations.
● Assist in documentation of models, field learnings, case studies, and impact insights.
● Support monitoring, data collection, and outcome tracking related to energy access, enterprise growth, and income enhancement.
● Coordinate with technical, livelihoods, finance, and partner teams to ensure smooth program execution.

Additional Responsibilities
● Provide leadership and guidance to the consultancy team across multiple initiatives under the Integrated DRE Program.
● Provide overall program leadership and strategic direction.
● Lead program planning, adaptive management, and integration of learning into strategy.
● Anchor donor engagement and program governance, including reporting, review calls, and strategic discussions with funders.
● Build and manage partnerships with government departments, financial institutions, CSOs, and ecosystem actors.
● Identify and scout new program collaborations, funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships within the sector.
● Guide development of scalable models and archetypes for productive energy use.
● Mentor team members and strengthen internal systems for quality and scale.

Competencies

Qualifications and Experience

● Minimum Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, Finance, Rural Development or related field.
● 10–15 years of relevant experience in renewable energy, livelihoods, rural development, enterprise development, or related sectors.
● Experience working with community institutions, small enterprises, or value chains is desirable.
● Strong understanding of decentralised renewable energy (DRE) and its linkages to income generation and local economies.
● Strong coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
● Ability to work across field and institutional contexts.
